Jesus Loves the Little Children

Every once in a while it hits me as to how fast my children are growing up. Tonight has been one of those times. Most of the time life is going by so fast that there's not time to actually "think" about how fast it is going!

Other times I pause think about how quickly they are growing up is when our whole family goes with my husband as he goes to different congregations speaking to them about Tipton (Children's)Home. In his talk, he mentions how that raising a child can be divided into 3 parts. When a child is 6 years old, parents are 1/3 of the way through raising them and when they are 12, parents are 2/3 of the way through raising them. To tell you the truth, I really don't like this reminder!

God has blessed my husband and I with these four children. But, God has also given us a responsiblity to raise them and teach them about Jesus. The first three gospels tell the story of Jesus and the little children.

"People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. Mark 10:13-16"

It is still God's plan for us to bring children to Jesus - whether it be our own children or children we come in contact with through Bible classes or places such as Tipton Home. May God bless us all in this endeavor!
