(Note: You may remember that Biscuit is the nickname of our youngest son, Tyler. If not, see "The Chronicles of Biscuit" from an earlier post.)
When Biscuit was 2 1/2 years old, we were helping at an elementary retreat at QMCC (Quartz Mountain Christian Camp). On Sunday morning the group walked over to a beautiful area around the base of one of the mountains. We all sat down around the pond for morning worship. The speaker was Arpoika Daniels and he was speaking to the children about creation. He talked about each of the days, one by one. When he got to day five, he began talking about the birds of the air and even mentioned airplanes flying. As we looked up in the sky - at that moment - a bird was flying by and an airplane flew by!
After that, Arpoika began talking about the fish and how God made the fish. A few of the children were standing on the side of the pond and had fishing poles with their lines in the pond. At the moment Arpoika began speaking about God making the fish, one of the little girls - who had never caught a fish - caught a fish! Everyone was excited for her, but thought it was just so amazing how God was showing Himself and His power during this lesson! Just being in the mountains and in that atmosphere while worshipping God is awesome in itself, but it was especially so that day.
Well, a few days later, I was going over this creation lesson with Biscuit. I asked him, "Who made the sun?" Biscuit answered, "God did!" I asked, "Who made the stars?" Biscuit answered, "God did!" Then I asked, "Who made the birds and the fish?" Biscuit answered, "How 'bout Arpoika?" I said, "How about God!"
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. Genesis 1:31 (a)
Have a great week, everyone!
