Happy 2014!

I've taken a blogging break during the holiday season, so that my focus and time could be on my family more than my "work".  So, the above photo (from our Parents After God's Own Heart Facebook and Instagram sites) would have been better posted a few days ago, but still is good to think about.
Our family came up with one word we would use as our focus word for the 2014 year.  We each also came up with our own word that would be our focus for the year. I loved this quote from myoneword.org about resolutions.  So many do try to change things for themselves only, instead of trying to be what God wants them to be.  Too many make resolutions based (it appears, anyway) only upon self.

As you go into 2014, pray and meditate on God's Word.  Strive to listen for His voice through the scriptures.  Strive to become what He wants you to be....and what He knows you can be!

Good advice - we just had our year end devotional with the boys and it's always surprising the insights your kids have!
