Your Heart's Desire

This week most of my family is at church camp. Yesterday's theme was "Heart's Desire". What does your heart desire? For some of us,we're still searching for our heart's desire, but others know exactly what they want and need. 

In searching with our heart, one important point that was made to the youth was that our heart can lead us in the wrong direction. For example, if we're not getting the love and affection we desire from our spouse or family, we may seek it from other places, and if we're not careful, that seeking could lead to sin. It doesn't have to, but it can. Our searching can lead us to God.

Ultimately, no earthly person can fulfill our heart's desire. Only One spiritual being can do that - the One True God. Only He can fulfill our physical and emotional needs completely.  Once we realize that truth, we will find peace and contentment.

The teens this week are searching to find their SHAPE. Each day is a different focus using SHAPE as an acrostic. By the end of camp, they will be able to know and understand more about God's purpose and plan for their life. Finding their heart's desire is just one step of that process, but one that's good for each of us to consider.
