The Chronicles of Biscuit - Keeping them Clean

The Chronicles of Biscuit - Stories about our youngest son, Tyler, whose nickname is Biscuit.

For Christmas, our boys got new golf balls from their dad that had their name on them.  Biscuit also bought some golf balls with a gift card he got from a cousin, so he had a lot of new balls he could use.  So, imagine my husband's surprise when the next time he took the boys golfing, Biscuit didn't take his new golf balls to play with!  When they got to the course, Biscuit asked his daddy if he could use some of his balls.  When asked why he wasn't using some of his new ones, Biscuit replied, "I don't want to get the new ones dirty!".

Isn't that funny?!!  What Biscuit got for Christmas to use for a sport he really enjoys, he was too afraid to even use!  Afraid to get them dirty!

I remember being a new Christian.  I remember being afraid that I was going to do something wrong.  I was afraid to sin.....afraid to get dirty.  It didn't take long at all before I recognized that I had sinned.....I had gotten dirty.  But you know what?  That dirty feeling didn't stay long!  Praise God!  Because of the sacrifice Jesus was willing to go through for each of us, when a child of God sins and asks for forgiveness from those sins, Jesus' blood continues to cleanse us and make us clean and new!  It's that wonderful!!

...and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.  To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood....
Revelation 1:5

We are going to get dirty.  We are going to sin....the Bible tells us so.  The difference is that as a baptized believer, we can be made clean again and again because of Jesus.

On this Gratituesday, I am GRATEFUL for the sacrifice and blood of Jesus.   Aren't you?

"If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin"
1 John 1:7

And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood. 13 Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore. 14 For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.
Hebrews 13:12-14

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!
Romans 5:8-9

"He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins."
Colossians 1:13-14
