How's Your Heart?

In the past few days, two people close to us have had heart attacks. One is my sister's father-in-law, who is stable, but will be undergoing triple bypass surgery in the next few days. The other is a woman in her early fifties. Her's was mild and will hopefully not require surgery.

Each day we wake up is a gift from God. We may have troubles, struggles, pain, and sorrow, but it is still a gift He has given us. But, we never know when we wake up what the day will bring. Neither of these two people woke up and expected to have a heart attack. In fact, neither of them had ever had any heart trouble before.

Of course we want a healthy heart, physically, but what is more important is the condition of our spritual heart. So, how's your heart? Is it spiritually healthy? Does it belong to God? If not, just like we taught in our "The Great Physician" VBS last week, Jesus can heal your heart.

Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:23

Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. Psalm 86:11-12

Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. Matthew 22:37

  1. I found your blog through the guest post on Alyssa's. Thanks for the great posts and especially this one. This morning I found out a beloved former local police officer and friend died suddenly of a heart attack at age 52. No health problems.

Loved your faith and finances guest post. I printed it :-)

  2. I would like to share my experience with a heart valve problem. I was having some palpitations since my childhood, but I was considering it as normal. As time passed, the severity of the palpitations and its frequency increased noticeably. I then searched over the internet sharing my experience, and at that point of time, I was surprised to know that this was something that I shouldn’t be ignoring. I came across a medical provider company providing eConsultation named Elite Health. I consulted their experts regarding my situation and I was suggested to have my cardio scans done. On my first ECG test, I came to know that I was not having a proper heart beat rhythm. It was arrhythmic, and non sinusoidal. I was doubted to be having sinus tachycardia. My further advance diagnosis at Elite Health was found that one of my left valve was deformed. But still, it was not to the extent that I require a valve replacement. I then was warned regarding the degradation in accordance with time, so I joined their wellness program where I am in their constant contact with the experts. I have to have all my basic tests monthly for few months, and then quarterly. I am right now having a deformed valve, still leading a healthy life. I just need to take care is to have immediate medications whenever I am facing any heart problem, which I am able to do because of e consultation facility. I would like to thank my heart for relentlessly working so hard and faithfully even though having a deformation.
