The Chronicles of Biscuit - My Mom's Cooking

Stories about our youngest son, Tyler, whose nickname is Biscuit.

I mentioned earlier in the week that I was cooking a lot for Teacher Appreciation Week this week.  Well, I have to share with you a conversation Biscuit had with his 1st grade teacher, Mrs. A.

Mrs. A.:  "Tyler, I might have to move in with you so your mom can cook for me."
Biscuit:  "Oh well, she doesn't really cook that good at home, just when it's for the teachers."

Hahaha!! I'm so glad Mrs. A shared this funny conversation with us!  I hope Biscuit's statement isn't true, but there are times when it really does seem that all of my "special" cooking and baking is for everyone else and not for my own family - not often, but at times.  On the bright side, though, I know it's good for our children to see the "giving" side of food and not just the "consumption" side.

Mrs. A had her class make a Mother's Day Cookbook this week.  Biscuit didn't want to wait until Mother's Day to give it to me so gave it to me today.  He was so proud of it and I am, too!  Reading through the class "recipes" is so much fun.  The kids say the funniest things and I appreciate Mrs. A going to so much work to create such a special keepsake for her students and their moms (and dads).  She also did a Thanksgiving Cookbook with the students telling how to cook a turkey.  (Read about that recipe here.)

Here is Biscuit's Mother's Day recipe page:

Notice that Biscuit says that I'm nice because I usually cook good food.  I guess that conversation about "the good food is only for the teachers" really isn't true ALL of the time...just SOME of the time!
